Couplers vs a small live wave patch cable

I u had a choice for an effects board, which would you choose. I most likely will go back and forth and I want to know if its even worth it.

Couplers take up the least amount of space and offer the most direct electrical connection between two pedals (I like the EBS ones). However, if you move pedals on and off your board frequently you have to be very careful as couplers can break the jacks on your pedals. I find a combination of couplers and cables to be the best route. There are certain pedals that live on my board permanently (tuner, comp, etc.) so those can use couplers. Everything else gets patch cables.

Sonically there is no difference.

couplers are the worst idea ever!

pedals are seldom perfectly vertical on the sides, and pedalboard mounting is seldom perfectly rigid; these two facts mean that the couplers put a bunch of stress on the pedal jacks, which gets even worse whenever you step on one.

absolutely avoid.
