TLDR
What practical giggling advice On coupling/decoupling do you have?
Lately I have seen posts regarding:
- lack of coupling of the cab/combo resulting in poor bass sound in a room
- lack of decoupling of the cab/combo resulting in poor bass sound in a room
I imagine every situation is different, so do you need couoling / decoupling? - it depends.
I wonder though if people are actually dogmatically in one camp or another rather than approaching it as a case by case thing.
I see the patented decoupling pads and I think maybe I need one of those. Then I see someone using 2 layers of foot pads and achieving ok results. Then another post lamenting the lack of coupling at a show.
Any reading on the subject sounds convincing but not practical.
Why spend $89 when you can get almost the same effect with a milk crate or cheap mat. Or embrace the floor and reposition as needed.
