Is 4 hours a normal gig for working musicians? That seems tiring as hell.

4 hours is typical for a bar gig around here. Not as bad as it sounds though. We break it down into 4 sets with about 15 min between the sets. Remind me that I said it's not as bad as it sounds next time I'm breaking stuff down for load out at 1:30a Saturday morning after working all day Friday.

Greetings, TB,

Inspired by another thread (What Do You Think of This Playlist?), I thought it would be cool to give/ get feedback on each other's setlists.

Here's one of ours (modern-ish rock):

Sundial - Wolfmother
Vaseline - STP
Hash Pipe - Weezer
Heaven Knows - Pretty Reckless
Wish You Were Here - Incubus
My Hero - Foo Fighters
Sunday Morning - No Doubt
Harder to Breathe - Maroon 5
Volcano Girls - Veruca Salt
Sedated - Ramones
Breed - Nirvana
That's What You Get - Paramore
No One Knows - QOTSA

Yes, chick singer.

Your turn.
The second to last cover band I was in did a number of these. We used to substitute Hash Pipe for the break in My hero. One of our biggest requests. I used to get an enthusiastic response from the audience in No One Knows during the bass "solo." Sometimes the signer would wait to come back in just for fun. I have multiple live recordings of it and still get a kick out of it. I have no idea why the audience would do this, but it happened regardless of the venue. /hijack

Them: Man, your bass solo sounded fantastic!
Me: You mean the part where everyone else drops out and I play exactly what I play during the rest of the song?

I'm in... we don't play them like the originals. We play the songs much faster with really horrible jokes in between them.

Help - The Beatles
American Girl - Tom Petty
Jumpin Jack Flash - Rolling Stones
Suspicious Minds - Elvis
My Life - Billy Joel
You May Be Right - Billy Joel
Don't The Girls All Get Prettier At Closing Time - Mickey Gilley
Space Oddity - David Bowie
I'm on Fire - Bruce Springsteen
White Wedding - Billy Idol
Can't Take My Eyes Off you - Frankie Valli

Here's a sample.. the sound isn't perfect, headphones or monitors are probably best for listening.
