Cover is as good as/better than Original

Easy Star All-Stars' (Feat. Toots and the Maytals) doing "Let Down" originally done by Radiohead. This is my favorite song off of Radiodread, which was ESAS reggae version of OK Computer.

Killer album. I liked Dub Side of the Moon too. I played Radiodread for my buddy the other day, and his comment was:

"These guys really do love Radiohead. They're not messing around."

That about sums it up right there. :hyper:

wow..I just read the entire therad, some good stuff mentioned. I got here a little too late and everything has been"covered":scowl:..sorry.:)...However,21'st. Century Schizoid Man, King Crimson\April Wine...the 3 guitar arrangement April Wine uses is very cool.. + 1 on Les Claypool(Primus\Frog Brigade ect.) doing covers,I really like Primus's version of"Making plans for Nigel"(XTC),and anything Zappa covers is awsome..

I've got a folder on my music drive just for cover songs. I don't know if I like them better than the originals, but I definitely think these are worthy contenders:

Eleanor Rigby - Beatles/Godhead
Tom Sawyer - Rush/Deadsy
Fox On The Run - Sweet/Deadsy
Norwegian Wood - Beatles/Vic Woot
Maybe I'm Amazed - Beatles/Virgos Merlot
(Don't Fear) The Reaper - BOC/HIM
Wicked Game - Chris Isaak/HIM
Daytripper/She's So Heavy - Beatles/Type O Negative

I've got a ton of them, but three others that are particularly... interesting...

Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge covered Jeff Buckley's cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" live at a show I went to, and blew me away.

KMFDM covered Madonna's "Material Girl" somewhere...

Alien Ant Farm did "Smooth Criminal." Very...interesting...

Blue Cheer's version of Summertime Blues rocks pretty hard, too - and even country singer Alan Jackson had a hit with it.

Also, Rush did Summertime Blues at the end of the most recent DVD... Saw them here the day before my birthday last year. Good stuff.

One that really comes to mind is "Silly Putty"

I think Primus covers are pretty weak compared to the originals (Making Plans for Nigel, I am The intruder & Silly putty) And i love Primus.

His bass playing too sloppy to hold a candle to Mr Clarke (Still like Les though)

How about The Residents cover of the Rolling Stones Satisfaction?
