Cracked Sadowsky

I've been following the thread since it's inception, you've never said that you contacted Sadowsky, you only keep disregarding various advice and keep proclaiming your bass is damaged. You also bicker with some other posters, a lot of which you're just as guilty of instigating as the other parties. Now you want to sell it without even showing anything but the surface crack. If you want to sell it more power to you there is nothing wrong with that, but why do you keep dodging the have you contacted Sadowsky question? There is a trend that I have noticed in your posts not only in this thread but a couple of threads you've started that leads people to believe you are either trolling or have quite the ego. Why not level with your fellow bass players and communicate rather than choosing to be snide and disdainful.

Well, I don't have a huge ego - this for sure: there are many reasons as to why I am comfortable to say this.

There will be four reasons for why you think there are snide remarks:
1. I am hesitant to respond to issues that I really don't have to respond to, hence my silence - I soon realised there were better things to do
2. my apparent attitude comes from an attitude coming to me
3. I will appear snide because I dare actually go against the grain of what people are saying
4. after 9 sheets of comments, the best you have to offer is to repeat everything that has been said previously and repeatedly question "why haven't you been to roger? why haven't you been to Roger?"

So, if you desperately need me to answer your question as to why I haven't been to Roger Sadowsky directly, the answer is as follows:
- it is not the correct course of action for this situation.

There is a very good chance you won't be happy with this response - alas, I can't help you if this is the case.

Dude why are you being such a drama queen? You're rewriting the narrative, anyone can reread the thread and easily see that. Do what ever you feel the right thing to do is then, but you're making the situation much more difficult than it needs to be. Sorry a few users rubbed you the wrong way, no need to condemn the rest of the community though. If you found all of the advice in this thread to be attitude then maybe don't start anymore threads looking for advice. Good luck to you.

Surely Sir, you troll?

Do you realise that after 9 sheets of threads with nothing new added, you are complaining about someone complaining?

As I said, I will update on what happened soon, though until that point I will need to respect people and process and say nothing.

Have you thought about posting your Sadowsky for sale in Talkbass' Classifieds? You'll be targeting a market that's more likely to pay you closer to the price that you want for it than Facebook and Craigslist, though I'm somewhat doubtful that you'll get your "full paid price" for it anywhere but a refund from wherever you bought it from. Best of luck in whatever path you decide to take!

How am I complaining? 9 pages could have been avoided if you had either contacted or said you decided not to contact Sadowsky or the dealer. By page 2 you were more interested in taking passive aggressive jabs at svtb15 than disclosing how you planned to resolve your situation. I've said several times you can do whatever you want and no one has the right to judge how you handle the situation with your bass, I only take objection to how you choose to treat the people that have taken an interest in the situation's outcome.

I know, I know - it is painful.

You need the Michael Jackson picture.

Nah, not painful at all, just sittin' back and watching the show. Good luck in whatever you decide (but I have to agree, only way you're likely to get full price is from the seller - like a new car, once it's in the 1st customer's hands, it's used).

And I do kind of agree with you, as I said earlier - when you buy new at that level, you have every right to be completely satisfied or seek a refund. And sorry for quibbling about your grammar (but the neck still ain't cracked). May you find what you seek. :)

I think at this point no one would buy it just to snub the OP and because THIS particular neck crack is so rare that it might explode.

I would be disappointed if I bought one brand new and it had any cracks in the finish for whatever reason. I bought my Sadowsky used and that mark would not have bothered me a bit if it was on it- it is cosmetic-again used is different from a new purchase
That said, if it was me- I would simply have called Roger and the seller to see what my options were prior to posting about it
And I certainly would not have gone after SvTB 15 who was only giving you practical advise from a pro and who has likely forgotten more about bass than many of us will ever know
Best of luck. I am sure Roger will take care of you

It's not even a neck crack! Sorry, I'm just getting silly, now, time for bed. (But I mean, if it were a neck crack, yeah, I'd be way more bent than OP is, but this is a body crack, likely just a finish crack. Even so, shouldn't come with them when buying new at that level - but could've happened in shipping, even - those kinds of things do tend to happen within the first couple of years where I am, at least. I ramble. No harm no foul hope OP gets his $ or whatever it is he seeks. 'night.)

Neck crack, finish crack...potato potahto :)

It may be that the OP bought the Sadowsky and didn't love it like he thought he would, then the neck pocket finish crack was the last straw for him. Fair enough, Sadowsky basses aren't for everyone just like Fodera, Lull, Benevante, Marco, etc aren't for everyone. However I don't see anyone paying full retail price to the OP when they can do the same with any Sadowsky Metro dealer or from Roger himself.

Haha! I don't know about "explode" but if this were an actual structure crack in the neck pocket's wood I think that the tension of the strings would have broken the neck right off of the joint. And unless I'm mistaken we still haven't seen photos of the entire bass. Hell, for all we know this could be another bolt-on bass and the OP has an axe to grind against Sadowsky.
