Cracked Sadowsky

Agreed. Though I also agree with a previous comment about OP and OCD. (Being rather familiar with the issue myself.) :)

Yeah I had a Musicman Sabre that arrived with this problem and it kept me up for a few days until I remembered that it could happen at any time down the road. I'm very OCD when it comes to basses, which is one of the reasons why I've flipped so much. But this particular issue I'd let go if it happened again.

Pay-Pal.

But seriously, do you want to buy it? Does anyone want to buy it?

It is a fantastic bass:
- still has nearly the entire warranty (-11 days)
- from a highly reputable guitar maker
- has been played for about 45mins total in its life, in a bedroom (I can more-or-less prove this)
- it has never been on a shop floor; it has never had random people hacking about with it. It has only ever been touched by someone with a vested interest in maintaining its quality
- has a small crack in the weakest part of the body, though don't let that bother you.

Full retail price as per the Sadowsky website.

Hit me up.
So did you not contact Sadowsky about it?

1) He was kidding

2) CONTACT SADOWSKY

3) CONTACT SADOWSKY

4) Repeat 2 & 3

Thanks - this is why I tuned out over half the thread ago. I am not joking however.

There have been a lot of critical comments produced, with some less-than-impressive attitudes, particularly given these people are not involved other than holding a beer and tapping on a keyboard.

With so many views and respondants however, there should be at least one buyer somewhere.

If the issue is as redundant as people say, there should be at least one buyer happy to stump up the cash and pay full retail price.

I doubt there will be a buyer, though I am keen to find out. That someone won't buy (who is looking to buy) lends support to the idea of sending it back.

Well, if I were trolling I wouldn't admit it - this would some what defeat the purpose of trolling. Furthermore, I would be doing a bad job of trolling if I stopped answering questions so long ago.

You expect people to be clamoring to buy when all you've posted is the one picture highlighting the minute "damage". Why not contact Sadowsky if you're so upset? Why the general lack of communication with the community here? Why the disdain from the get go? No offense, but what's your deal man?

If you trace back the messages you will see two points:
- I actively communicated until the point when all comments where just repeats. From this point, the thread grew to double the size without my input and nothing new provided
- as I said, there has been a lot of incoming disdain, which has likely triggered my supposed disdain.

As an FYI, I am more curious than full of disdain (though there is disdain).

It shouldn't happen. I've purchased around 7 or 8 bolt-on basses and it never happened to me. Returning it will make the manufacturer deal with the problem.

The problem with a statement like this and the same goes for dead spots is that just because it hasn't happened to someone else doesn't change the fact that it's still common and has happened to others. You've had 7 or 8 bolt ons in your life and none of them have had this problem while I bought 8 basses this YEAR and two of them had cracked neck pockets. One was used, one was new. I bought a used bass a few years ago. It was around 2 years old and it didn't arrive to me with a cracked neck pocket. After about 6 months of me owning it, it developed a crack on both sides of the pocket.

Just as some people argue that they've never had a bass with a dead spot when in reality they probably just couldn't perceive it when another person might more easily, you might live in an environment where your weather and humidity levels (even just in your house) are more consistent and the wood of the basses you've owned didn't have time to expand. All those basses could have had looser neck pockets. My point being that just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean that it shouldn't happen, especially when there are countless threads on TB that prove that it CAN and DOES happen.

Guys - this threat is done. It would be silly to stretch it out to another 8 sheets on the same topic.

I'll one day let you know what happened.

I've been following the thread since it's inception, you've never said that you contacted Sadowsky, you only keep disregarding various advice and keep proclaiming your bass is damaged. You also bicker with some other posters, a lot of which you're just as guilty of instigating as the other parties. Now you want to sell it without even showing anything but the surface crack. If you want to sell it more power to you there is nothing wrong with that, but why do you keep dodging the have you contacted Sadowsky question? There is a trend that I have noticed in your posts not only in this thread but a couple of threads you've started that leads people to believe you are either trolling or have quite the ego. Why not level with your fellow bass players and communicate rather than choosing to be snide and disdainful.
