Craig's List - who's buying this stuff?

To be honest i would have never known that was a fake. Silly me. I would have immediately said "man i didn't know the head stocks looked like that back in the day."
Then, i would have come to talk bass and asked all you fine folks about the bass. So to you guys i offer thanks for keeping dummies like me from buying dummy things like that.

There was an awesome satirical Ebay ad years ago where the guy had modified a beater Ibanez and was trying to sell it as a vintage Ffender. Paper logo with Fender written in magic marker taped on the headstock. He linked the ad to a website that was his homepage and therewere pictures of him, and he looked like a meth addict, picture of a really beat car and a really fat ugly girlfriend. The coup de grace was his dog, and it was one of those ugly deformed chihuahas. Good times.

As the economy gets worse or fails to get better, the entertainment factor in classified ads will continue to rise.

Just for the heck of it, I might post an ad for a fender jazz bass complete with pics of a rake (slim fast neck) and some twine (new strings). $199 OBO. Lets see what bites. :D

I also have some scrap external grade plywood (skateboard blanks) I might throw up but thats OT.

All Squier basses here are listed as Fender, then again ALL JAZZ and P basses are listed as Fender, although sometimes the description does say "Fender Style" in there somewhere!!

This is precisely why it's just wrong to put a Fender decal on a Squier, like many here do, no matter what their argument of justification is. There's too many newbs that don't know the difference and the future seller (heirs, etc., in defence with caveats) may not know either.
