tell him you need to see the backs of the pots and the wiring too... decal does not look right, i'm trying to rememeber but wasn't it a huge logo across the headstock on the early 70's... also is it me or do you always see something penciled onto the heal of the neck by the techs on the old fenders,, could of been rubbed off but I always see that?

I was thinking about doing that. Based on my dialogue with him, he's received a pretty heavy dose of inconsiderate fact sharing from a number of respondents. This would add insult to injury.
