Craigslist Score!

I was browsing the local craigslist for a guitar cab, and came across a black label fender p-bass for $150! It has part of the G tuner missing and was pretty dirty.
I figured something else was wrong with it, so I went to check it out. The strings were covered in rust, as were the frets. The guy said an old roommate had left back and it sat in his basement ever since.
I offered him $100 and went home with it. I took it apart, cleaned and polished everything including the frets and put back together. After slapping some new strings on it and doing a quick set up I had a brand new looking bass.

Best craigslist find yet!

Get a hipshot d-tuner and move the E tuner up to the G position.

Isn't $100 about right?

I'm not anything close to a Fender/Squire historian, but you have some kind of lesser model that doesn't cost very much to begin with, right?

If someone were to post that same bass in the classifieds section, "Fender/Squire" - "Fender labeled MIM Squire" or whatever it is, what kind of price would you expect?

Rusty (not from honest age), broken tuner, no strings, and says Squire on the headstock...I'm just saying.

- I don't think you're being an a**. I thought the same thing. Unless there's something we don't understand about this (which I could certainly be missing something), I can't see a higher price.
