A buddy of mine has a LesPaul clone made by Samick. It's no Gibson, but it's a decent instrument. I believe it once needed some solder work. Other than that he sure likes it.

Crap..I'm Gassing for a Samick!!!

I never played a Samick bass, but I own a Greg Bennett designed acoustic guitar made by Samick. Had it for 6 years and still plays great.

I played a Samick hollow body guitar (yeah, I said it) on a CD about 10 years ago. I had a 50's Les Paul, 2 vintage Strats, and a slew of other awesome axes at my disposal but the Samick sounded awesome so I kept it. John Schwab, the owner of the studio, started talking to me about Samicks and how great they were and how they're a great bang for the buck.
I've had a couple of their 5er's. Pretty good after a setup.
First one was an odd coloured one that changed with the light, from blue to purple. No pics of that one. I sold it cheap shortly after I got used to the fretless.
This was my second one.
