Ever been in the room when someone's bridge drops? I have.
I wouldn't want to be in the room if this one did! =)
I saw this on the Music Go Round site and I had to share.
It’s a Shen SB-100. I…I’m not sure what to think. It’s hurting my brain. View attachment 5249416
Gretch, have you seen the clip of the guy taping his practice session when his tailgut failed and the tailpiece flew by his face before embedding itself in the drop ceiling?
Jason Brown addresses this (02/01/2019):Jason Brown didn’t design the Deuce.
The bridge was created in my basement shop, by myself and Jayson Minor, back when we both lived in Wisconsin, around 8 years ago.
Gee, you'd never guess that by just looking at their bridge design and fabrication...Both those guys are pretty screwy.
Jason participated in the design process and he ultimately improved the design. The only thing different I had my luthier do when he installed mine is that he used a solid maple bridge blank for the top of the bridge instead of the plywood one that came with it; and I had him use some silver metallic wood stain on the feet and bridge blank to match the silver fireball on the bass. I had Jason leave the bridge the stock bare aluminum color and he put some type of clearcoat on it. I’m very happy with the results and it’s rockabilly gig-proof since it’s resistant to falling.…Jason Brown didn’t design the Deuce.
