Thank you for chiming in!!!
I'm terribly confused though...
I'm aware of three bass-related Jasons:
1) Jason Minor, who was the person who worked on my Alcoa before I owned it, and to my knowledge is the person who owned and ran Deuce Bass Company in Hemet, and originated the Deuce Bridge.
2) Jason Burns, of Bass Cult and formerly King Basses, who we've all grown to know and love at least as a result of this thread.
3) Jason Brown, who is the luthier at Lemur Music in San Juan Capistrano and who may be taking over or taking part in the Bass Cult company (and I assume is the person I'm replying to with this message).
- Interestingly, Jason Minor seems to no longer be the active name and presence at the FB Deuce Bridge (formerly Deuce Bass Company) website, having been replaced in name and I'm guessing in presence by Jason Brown.
@Red Brown, not to put you on the spot as I'm anxious to see how things work out for you at BC in a positive way, but can you provide some recent history on the Deuce Bass / Deuce Bridge - Jason Brown involvement for us?
Confusing is right!

I don't blame anyone for being confused. Jayson Minor was involved with Deuce Bridge, and handled it in a way that didn't work that well. He is no longer part of that. I wish him well, none the less and won't speak badly about him. He has always meant well, and just let things get out of control. I was not involved with Deuce Bridge during this time; he was in charge of it, and it was his to run.
Blast Cult has had some issues, in the past, and there were deposits taken for some basses, and that is being addressed with the individuals involved, and they will be getting the latest basses, which are going to be the next evolution featuring design changes that I'm influencing from my years of classical and jazz lutherie. Jason Burns has also done a lot of really creative and great stuff, there, and deserves a lot of credit for that. He created a brand and a concept that is loved by many, no doubt, and my experience in the booth, at NAMM, confirmed this beyond any doubt. His fans are many, and our booth was buzzing with positive energy from many of the luminaries in the bass and music community.
The new bass will be a bass which is appealing to everyone since this is what I do...make people love their basses. The company will soon be reachable, again, and it will be a new day. I hope the haters here will give it a chance, and I know that many of my clients are very excited about this union and the good that will come of it. I decided to join talk bass today because I was alerted by some of my clients that my name came up, and that someone mentioned that I might be of questionable character or something. Well, I'm right here, now, and they can address it directly. I don't know this person, but if anyone has something to say, I'm all ears.
I replied to you, dhergert, because your question addressed a very confusing point, and you were also very nice about it, so thank you. I would love to have no confrontations and enjoy this page. My entire life is spent either serving other bassists or playing the bass, so the bass community is my world, and I love it. Please feel free to share this to anyone who is also wondering what is going on. Cheers!
PS, I decided to offer my welded version of the Deuce Bridge, in a limited fashion, a couple months ago by offering six to the first six people who replied, and I filled the orders in 10 minutes. So, they must not be that terrible! I know the look is not for everyone, but the concept and performance are beyond doubt as they have proved themselves many times over, in the real world. The bridge was created in my basement shop, by myself and Jayson Minor, back when we both lived in Wisconsin, around 8 years ago. And Jason Burns and myself both played bass in the Hank Williams III band. I was the original bassist for around 7 years, and he came onboard shortly after I left. So, yeah, a lot of room for mixing us all up! And sorry about all the edits! I think that does it!
