Unfortunately I don't even have a computer. Perhaps one day, but I think I'll likely own a mixer before I even own a computer.

You don't need a computer, they are all running on your iPad...

Thanks for sharing! What type of stuff would you recommend to a beginner looking to get into the hobby? I envy your set up, it's magnificent

thanks, Seth! It took a good while to put all that together, really started with the moog synth that I played live in a band, using a midi foot keyboard controller while playing guitar. The pandemic killed my last band so I took up electronic stuff.

Advice: pick up cheap(ish) but useable stuff that isn’t cool anymore. Don’t throw money at “magic all in one boxes” . Figure out how to set up recording on yer ipad (GarageBand, prob). And record whatever you can get your hands on. Simple is good. Limitations are good. Let the live concept start from making whatever tunes you can play bass with.

Been practicing to music with a mixer for a long time. I use an Equalizer, so i route through that, and can switch between components/cd players, phone, whatever. It works for me.

Thank you for the advice, I feel pretty good knowing what I hoped to do is validated by someone with experience. For me, cheap is the way to go because I'm broke but want as much gear as possible. I figure o can eventually swap stuff out with higher quality gear when I have the chance

That's awesome man, that's a perfect way to practice mixing. That's what I wanna do, using my pedals loop station and my iPad, plus a synth, to see how I like to have them blend together. Thanks for sharing

Get more than four channels. Just add up how many you need. I use two for my Bass and keep the volume in the middle. Then, one stereo component i give two channels and sweep the volume completely left on one channel and right on the other. Look up Bi-Directional "RCA stereo Audio Switch" on Amazon for one. Some are around 30 Bucks. I have to get one to save mixer channels. I learned how at GC.

Thank you, that is an awesome idea. Even just doing this to make sure I have two channels for eveything, would be great for panning anything I wanna send in, and if I wanted, EQing them differently. But you never know what sort of stuff I might end up adding to my collection
