Crazy Heavy String Advice?

Hello!

I love high tension bass strings, so I went and bought some 5er Power Slinky's (50-70-85-105-135), and put them on my four string by dropping the .50. I couldn't find a tension I liked. I started at BEAD and worked my way up half step by half step. This went on until I found the tension I wanted.

By then, I had tuned the (70-85-105-135) up to standard EADG.

Of course the whole time adjusting the truss rod. I have a Schecter Omen Extreme-4.

I know this is probably very unorthodox to do, but could I damage the neck even by adjusting the truss rod correctly and being careful? I know from my guitar years SRV tuned his 13-60 (?) up to standard 440, and his hands bled quite often.

I am also concerned by being killed by a snapped string that flings back around and slices my head clean off. I don't think the tension is too too dangerous, but still... Its kinda scary. But I love the feel of it.

I'd be concerned as well. It's not advisable for the tuners, not for the strings and not for the woodwork. Stiffer strings with a hex core may be the way to go. A 0.125 gauged E string would be max in my opinion. A while ago I programmed a string calculator, here it is: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Don't worry about the .135, that's a very unbalanced set, the .070 G is at 107 pounds tension O_O A .070 at D is already insanely tight.
Tuning up a fourth almost doubles the tension, i expect the string to break soon and your bass will be under extreme stress and might or might not become damaged, but if you're happy ... :)
