WHOA! A guy at my school owns that bass in the top two pictures, or at least one EXACTLY like it. There's a two-piece band here at Oberlin called "Dancerockinfinity", and they play sort of '80s-ish techno-dance-rock. Really awesome stuff. Anyway, the lead singer uses a Roland Keytar as a MIDI controller to trigger keyboard loops and such, and also as a controller for his vocoder (I swear I'm not making this up), and the other guy in the band plays bass. Specifically that bass with the metal rod for an upper horn and weird headstock and such. He runs it through a lot of effects, so it ends up sounding pretty distorted, but it definitely adds . . . um . . . atmosphere to their concerts. Bunnybass said it was a Girl-Brand "Fat Girl" bass. All I can say is that it definitely catches your eye when someone is playing.
