Creamy Tone..

I can't find it I wish I had a clip to show what im looking for but maybe someone can help :( I'm not sure if its my cab, head, or bass, but I figure ill start with the cab and head. My Lh500 seems to be close, hut I haven't landed on any cab yet. Right now I've got an swr goliath 2 4 10, and an mim p bass. I'll move my next q to the bass portion.

I think he's looking for a "creamy tone." I think what he's referring to is a combination of amp tone+character, speaker tone+character, and compression/limiting. Or, stated a little more generally, taking the edges off -- tonally and dynamically. It can be done with analog hardware (live), DSP (live), or plug-ins/DSP (studio). However, much of it can be accomplished with how the instrument is played.

cut highs back on the bass itself and maybe if you have to on the amp. Bump up mids and depending on the room bump lows. In most rooms though cut lows back a tad. And play closer to the neck or on the neck pickup. Honestly though I just use an effect pedal :p.

The Goliath II cabs I've played thru have been pretty bright and modern sounding... Although I dig SWR cabs, if I were looking for "creamy", I wouldn't be playing one of their 10s loaded cabs... For 10s, I'd say that sound can be had by Ampeg or Eden - otherwise, I'd look for 15s loaded cabs...

sorry for not being more clear, i was half asleep and soldering, while trying to post haha

im probably heading to GC today or tomorrow, taking my head with me, and it looks like ill be trying out sealed 1x15s :D
