Crown xl1500 power

Similar but not same. One thing I needed to do was make sure the input sensitivity on the power amp was compatible with my preamp. At the time, there were some models that were a set sensitivity level, and others were able to be set via the DSP menu. I don’t know about your gear, but just be aware of the need to have your preamp pedal and power amp set up properly.

Edit to add: I also wired my own Speakon cable to be bridged mono for that setup.

Enjoy!

I had a similar setup but not an outboard pre . I used a Sansamp RBI or an Ampeg SVPCL preamp into a Crown XLS 1500 . It worked very well and is an inexpensive alternative to an integrated amp for the features you get . Just be realistic about what your cab will handle , the Crown could easily be too much power .

Be aware of your cabinet's limitations before you damage it.

I think Andy may be suggesting you take the manufacturer's power-handling claims with a grain of salt. One thousand watts is a LOT of power. I happen to respect Hartke gear more than most, but I am pretty sure I can destroy that cabinet with 1000 Watts. HPF is essential. If it were my cab, I'd be curious about those speakers' xMax.

I have said enough.

If your talking about the XLS1500 then yes go into the set up menu set the clip limit to on and the high pass to at least 45hz.
Maybe try not bridging the amp at first and see what that does, run it in stereo and just use one channel.
The lowest the amp can be set is 50 Hz.

OP: The input sensitivity of the amp is 1.4 V. Many pedals cannot deliver this.

50hz even better in this case, the 02 versions can be switched between .775 and 1.4 volt input sensitivity. I can't remember if the 02 version has a different range of frequency choices or not, I have an 00 and 02 version of the XLS's, I take one with me as a spare amp.
Depending on his preamp the fixed 1.4v input could be a form of self limiting.

The amp, when bridged, potentially has the horsepower to damage the Hartke enclosure irrespective of the touted "match". The 1.4 sensitivity may also be a limiting factor...I use rackmounts and have had no issues. Give this some consideration when choosing a pedal pre. Since you're already committed to a rack box for the power amp, get one with an extra space or two and install a known line-level device (bass pre, mic channel, etc.) then stick your favorite character pedal in front of the whole schmear.

For the 00 the input sensitivity cannot be switched and the frequencies for the 02 are different, just compare the manuals.
