I’d like to use a crown xl1500 bridged at 8 ohm with my cab with 4x10 hartke speakers rated at 1000 watts/ 8 ohms. Using an outboard preamp pedal. Anyone have experience with a similar setup?

Be aware of your cabinet's limitations before you damage it.
The lowest the amp can be set is 50 Hz.If your talking about the XLS1500 then yes go into the set up menu set the clip limit to on and the high pass to at least 45hz.
Maybe try not bridging the amp at first and see what that does, run it in stereo and just use one channel.

OP: The input sensitivity of the amp is 1.4 V. Many pedals cannot deliver this.
For the 00 the input sensitivity cannot be switched and the frequencies for the 02 are different, just compare the manuals.50hz even better in this case, the 02 versions can be switched between .775 and 1.4 volt input sensitivity. I can't remember if the 02 version has a different range of frequency choices or not, I have an 00 and 02 version of the XLS's, I take one with me as a spare amp.
Depending on his preamp the fixed 1.4v input could be a form of self limiting.
This!! Also, not a fan of bridging.Be aware of your cabinet's limitations before you damage it.
Using similar. Trace Elliot transit b > Behringer ep1500 non bridged > two separate cabs. Works great.
It states right there non bridged. If you not already you may want to try running each cabinet on a single amp channel and put the amp in parallel mode.

This is what I do when I use my rack rig.If you not already you may want to try running each cabinet on a single amp channel and put the amp in parallel mode.
