Looking at buying a new amp for my home.Subwoofer, and there is a used crown xti 1000 in my area for a good price. Is it a good subwoofer amp?

It's a 3.3cubic ft enclosure tuned to 30hz for 2 10in woofers
Any of the Crown/Crest/QSC/Peavey IPR PA amps are going to be largely the same for this kind of application. Make sure it has the wattage you want at the ohm rating you need, and that it's not one of the weird 70v installation ones or something and you'll be fine.
Since it's for an installation you might look at the old lead sleds like the Micro/Macro Tech Crowns. They're beasts and generally a lot cheaper.

If it's for home use, might want to do some Internet research on fan noise. What will you be driving the sub amp with? IMHO, Check the max output level.
It's been quite awhile since I was into HiFi. Unless things have changed, the signal level provided by most HiFi gear is consumer line level (-10dBv). FYI -10dBv is only about 0.32V. The XTi1000 sensitivity rating is listed as 1.4V, which is over 2.90dBv.
