Crowther Audio Pedals Have Arrived!!

I have to have that sound Rene'!!!!

That youtube video link is the sound I have been searching for, for many years. I may have to sell all of my basses and buy that black Roscoe fretless as well. Gard said it rocked, and now I have heard it for myself. It does.

Can anybody tell me how to get that sound? My bass is a carbon necked, German made Bogart 5 fretless. I just want to know about the effects used, that clean octave, compression, and maybe a little chorus. That sound?

What effects are capable of producing that kind of clean sound, full octave with no drop out in the lows.

Anybody?

I've been experimenting since I posted that link.

My suggestion for such sounds would be:

Markbass Compressore -> MXR Bass Octave Deluxe -> BOSS CE-5 Chorus Ensemble -> Line 6 Verbzilla


Chorus and reverb aren't that necessary, use them sparringly.


(BTW, you do not want to see my pedal collection... :hmm: it's an obsession... and as a matter of fact I don't use much effects in the band, just tremelo and delay... and volume pedal... and sometimes fuzz)


And then off course you need an amp that shines for that octaved fretless sound.
Something like the "superflat" Roland D-Bass 115 gets my recommendation.

Thought there might have been a slight chorus, but haden't considered reverb, good call.

The markbass compressor is that good? I haven't even seen the markbass pedals personally, though I have read a little about them. With my bass sustain and clean notes aren't really an issue, but the swelling MWAH this thing produces is. I just need to knock the peaks off a little, and softly.

The Roland DBass? Didn't see that one coming. I know Alan Clairon used a couple for his live and studio rigs, for a little while, and he knows fretless. Thought they sounded good, but the speaker control seamed to kill volume when I got a little aggressive. What makes the DBass so good for this sound?

Was actualy thinking about a Roland VB99 as a pre, into power and a couple of Bergi 1x12's. So many sounds are available, one bass to cover them all. The ultimate mini rig of doom.

Anybody else got suggestions?
