CSI..Gary Sinise

atoz_gary.jpg

LOL! Atoz--appropriate for any picture.

Here is a youtube clip. Really just a cheezball cover band, but considering they've played literally hundreds of free shows for our troops that makes them a-list in my book. Gary can lay it down just fine, and even takes a nice little break at the 4:50 or so mark.

Beware the intro, it's long, but pretty funny.

I saw the The Lt. Dan band last year at HoB in Cleveland. He is a solid bass player. Did some good covers (Stevie Wonder, Motown, Hendrix, etc.). The women in the crowd (g/f included) were DROOLING and SWOONING over him, to the point that I felt very uncomfortable. He does a lot of charity concerts to support our armed forces and other causes, no reason to hate on him.

Actor's band brings rock to the troops 11/25/2009
CAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan -- There was no rock star, just an actor who likes to play the bass guitar.

For a crowd of 400 Marines, soldiers, sailors, airmen and contractors Tuesday, however, Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band, named for the character Sinise played in the movie "Forrest Gump," might as well have been U2.

Class Act. (btw: Story photo shows him with a Variax Bass - outdoors in Afghanistan.)
