CT get together?

Freaky Fender said:
Update: There is a neighborhood club house 7 steps away from my house, literally. It can hold up to 200 people, and it costs $75 to rent for members, and my mom said she would rent it. The rules are that the event has to be over by eleven, but if there are any lingerers, they could always crash at my house, we have a couch and a spare room. We also would have to hire a bartender for the night, but it won't be a problem since people over 21 will be there. Last ditch effort would be my place.

It holds 200 people, and it's only $75 to rent ????

The place I rented for the NYC get-together could hold only about 100, cost me $250, and I got a break because I knew someone!

Man! You guys should jump on that! :hyper:

Good luck. GTGs are it!

Well, would Saunderstown, RI be too far for you and Joe? It's a little over an hour from Norwich (southeast). I imagine if we have a majority of central CT TBers, then we'd need something a little closer, like in New Haven or something. Where is everybody at?

I live about 15 minutes north of New Haven. If its going to be out of CT. I would need to catch a ride with someone as my vehicle isnt reliable enough. :eyebrow:

Not a big deal really, Im not that great of a bassist and my gear isnt anything worth bragging about or worth comparing. :hmm:

Okay, so other than those who have posted in this thread, these are a few active CT TB members:

WillPlay4Food
buldog5151bass
fastplant
MuzikMan
Bassman_spike
Craig Garfinkel
Gallient Knight
FungusHumumgous
Jon Maghini (luthier)

There's also some active RI and southie Mass members that I'm sure would like to get involved, like Thor. If you'd like I could send out a group PM asking if they'd like to get involved and where would be best to have it. Maybe if we end up having to use a central CT location, we could get a place like Milford Music or Sam Ash to host it (I'd say maybe GGuitars but they've got a zillion dollars worth of gear I'm sure they don't want messed with).

yeah i say pm them
milford music is way too small of a locale.

Well if you're thinkinf of letting people who live in the state of the 2004 WORLD SERIES CHAMPION BOSTON RED SOX (been waiting 86 years to type those words :p ) I'm in southern western Mass. (1/2 hour north of Hartford) and I'd be up for it. Any day is fine with me, and probably any place in the norther 2/3 of CT.

Ok, I sent out a group PM to the guys on my list. Lajoie, anyone is welcome to come from the neighboring states-particularly Red Sox fans :) Also, if you know of a central Connecticut location that we could hold the event (which we'd end up needing with mostly central CTers instead of eastern ones), then please feel free to post your suggestions here.

I heard someone mentioning VOMIT in here? You should really make a thread about that if you want more replies! :D

Anyway, depending on when & where the get together is I might be able to drop by. :) I'm in the Hartord area if anyone is picking a location based on where everyone lives. :)

I am working with a studio in Wallingford...

Which? Trod?

Milford Music, Guitar Center and Sam Ash are all decent ideas as well.

If any "store", I would say Milford Music would be the best choice, but as stated earlier, its prolly too small.

besides, I wont even step a foot into a S.A. as I have had nothing but bad experiences with them. :scowl:

not to be a pain, but since i missed the NYC one, any chance of having the GTG in southern CT? :hiding:

Probably not southern CT, as most everyone interested so far is in the central CT area, but if you just hop on 95N in NY, it leads you straight to New Haven.

Gallient Knight's suggestion of the studio in Wallingfod seems best so far, as it is a very central location to everyone (halfway between New Haven and Hartford). Would you be able to reserve the studio for a Saturday or Sunday, Galient Knight?

Here's a map of CT:
mconnecticut.gif

So far the people interested are:
Bryan R. Tyler-Norwich
IvanMike-New Haven
LajoieT-southwest Mass above Hartford
Gallient Knight-Milford (working in Wallingford)
OE-Wallingford
WillPlay4Food-Deer Crossing
Joe Turski-??? (Hartford I thought)
Joshua-Milford I thought (?)
AJ Brown, bryan bailey, and FF-the parking lot on the right (aka Rhode Island)

I can send out a couple emails to GC, Sam Ash, GGuitars, and Milford Music if the studio in Wallingford doesn't work. Joshua, you know the guys at Milford Music, right? Would they be able to make enough space?
