CT get together?

I am still offering to have this get together hosted at our studio in Wallingford. Its about as central as we can get. Adult Beverages are OK for those that want to. The room is large, full of equipment and has plenty of space for 10+ people and their 100+ basses (hahahaha). Lots of parking.

Whom ever is leading this cause, if your intrested, let me know.

IF SA becomes an option I can call their Pro Audio Manager (J0Etown for those of you that know him) I imagine he would be willing to help.

That's great then! I think your Wallingford location would be the best bet considering the location of everyone who would like to go. Do you have an idea of which weekend it would be best to use it for? I imagine going towards the middle/end of the month is best so people can get their ducks in line.

after attending the old NE gettogether, I have some suggestions about how you could improve upon the gettogether format. One of the problems were that there were so many big amps going the whole time that you couldnt hear what any of the basses sounded like, or what any of the players sounded like either, and it gives you a headache after a while listening to like 12 basses going at once.

Its kind of lame but I think I would suggest having a holy sceptre or something that gets passed around and whoever is holding it gets to cut loose on all the basses and amps. Maybe you could do two at once or whatever would keep the volume under control. Otherwise I would bring along some headphone amps or something- its a kick in the pants to play all those instruments but its not as much fun if you can't hear what they sound like.

Also somebody should bring a drum machine or some drum loop discs or something and keep it going to whole time for people to play along with. Even if there were 12 guys playing it wouldnt be so bad if they were kind of synced up to something :)

These are very good ideas. I thought it should be sort of a circular group, with each person taking a turn, with maybe two basses max going at once. It was more of a noise fest last time, and I'd like it if we all got to know each other and give the instruments a good run-through. I'd write out a little schedule if it's okay that just outlines the day so it's not complete havoc. unregistered, are you Joe Turski's friend with the contacts?

My vote is for mid afternoon, like meet at 1pm or 2pm. That leaves it so no one has to get up too early, and those of us with kids can come home before it gets too late. I'm open to other options though :)

i dig the holy scepter approach no need for idiotic noise. maybe we could get a drummer or two to show up, maybe even a guitar player :eek:
wallingford sounds like an excellent choice
