Cubase SX problem (wont load,....)

Everytime I try to run Cubase SX after installing it, i get "Syncrosoft POS Error Message"

Body of message as is follows...

"An error has been signaled by the protected object server.

-> Application "CubaseSX"has caused the error.
-> No Protection Device connected.

Connect device and click OK to retry.
Click CANCEL to abort."

Clicking ok brings up the same message......
Clicking Cancel brings up a shorter version of the other message

"Connect Device and click ok to Retry."

then, after pressing cancel again...

"Unknown exception caught. Click ok to continue."

I thought kazz,,,, my friend was on the level about this stuff! Shame on him.

It seems as if you don't have the Steinberg protecton dongle (small blue USB key) hooked up or it is faulty. That is the message I get if mine is not inserted into the USB port. If you don't have the dongle, chances are Cubase won't work.
