Cubease SE3 lag

ok, got this software a few days ago and got it all loaded just fine. I plan to use it in conjunction with an M audio moble pre as an interface. but since that is in tallahassee and i am in tampa im using a Samson USB microphone (Q1U). it recods fine and dandy. but when its set to monitor a chanel there is serious lag time. I cleared out the majority of the hard drive, defraged and cleaned up the hard drive as well. I assume i need to adjust the latency or clocking or whatever of my pc but how do i go about doing that

with anything USB there are going to be some latency issues. The more memory and faster your processor the better off youll be. I used to have a problem with my mbox being a little to latent for my uses, digidesign actually tells u to mute the track while u record with it as a fix. Try to not monitor your tracks as you record or get a faster computer or interface. Your mobile pre might be better, might not be. Adjusting your buffer size also might help things.

yeah, i played with it some more today and seem to have gotten things worked out with it
