Curious - who has a gig tonight or this weekend.....

Playing tonight in town, at a proper music club (meaning $8 cover... I hope people show up!). At least the gig is earlier, from 10 to midnight, rather than the 3-4 hour bar slog. Last night played at another true club in a town an hour away from here, nice club, pretty decent turn-out, but work was brutal today, even though I got to be pretty early (2:30 am). Then I'm done for the weekend, well except for a rehearsal on Sunday. Great gigs everyone!

yeppers. we play this Saturday in Sacramento at a club i've never played at with 2 bands i've never played with. that's always fun.

i always like playing, but this prooooooooobably won't be the most exciting show i've ever done. but i do love meeting new bands and playing new places.

Tonight-club gig w/ jazz funk group-7-10pm
Saturday-Fundraiser gig with R&B singer-2:15pm
Saturday night-club gig w/ jazz funk group from above, 10pm-3am
Sunday-Crescent City Blues and BBQ Fest in the french quarter-11:30am-opening up main stage
Sunday Night-club gig w/ singer from above-9pm-1am
For the week I've totalled 9 gigs and I've been excited bout all of em!

......and are you looking forward to it? We all know not every gig is a peach so that's why I threw that question in.

My band plays tonight and tomorrow night. It's about 125 seat lounge/small bar type of thing. Usually pretty fun.

Tomorrow night I will have a gig at the biggest, most prestigious stage I've ever played. Super excited about it. I've seen Pat Metheny on this stage and a couple other big regional and national acts there, so it's a big one. Not nervous really, but very excited.

i don't know how you guys do that many shows in a row. i like a day off after an hour long set.

..... sounds FUN though.

Saturday, my funk band (Funkranomicon) plays the Crow's Nest at the harbor in Santa Cruz. Fun gig, fun band. I've been stressed out at work, trying to shed the stress so I can relax and play the gig with a nice, laid back groove.

I kinda miss my days of 3 gigs/weekend every weekend. Our band leader (he was the artist, we were the sidemen) passed away last week, so I'm currently gig-less.

Something else will come along, and perhaps I should enjoy the time off, but I really miss it...

I'm playing tomorrow with my soul/funk revue at an Irish pub. I am absolutely thrilled about this one! It pays pretty well, it's always packed, the staff is cool, and I have a lot of fond memories in this place.

The only downside is that we have a sub on keys, and the stage is tiny with a mediocre PA.

I've worked the circuit for a long time but as a result kinda 'settled in' to a comfort zone as far as expanding my 'thang' is concerned, it paid my way but made me a bit lazy as to attacking my weaknesses on the instrument. Next year and the remainder of this one, I intend to woodshed the price of 'taken for-granted' so to speak. I make up by teaching more fortunately, but will get back to seeking the regular gig's in the near future, I'm missing the vibe.

Playing tomorrow morning for two hours at a local wine fest. Arrive time: 8:30am. Gig from 10 to Noon. Decent pay. Sound provided by venue. We're the first of 3 or 4 bands. Weather: cool and clear. Much wine will be tasted. Gotta be a good boy tonight.
