Curious - who has a gig tonight or this weekend.....

Fun one tonight - smallish dance floor - but it's packed from the first downbeat to we start load out... rest of the weekend off!
Winery gig on Sunday, 12-3. Cougars, a bottle of wine & some chump change. I'm about 5/8 into it.
Same here... I look forward to all of them. I know the alternative all too well.
Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. Then Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, etc.

Sitting at home tonight doing nothing (and busy tomorrow). Maybe I'll catch you guys at the Marion next month. That place is always good for a piss up.
Playing Sunday for a City Function, 2000+ in attendance should be fun and the weather is suppose to be in the upper 70's 
Well, Im back. Tonights gig (9-1) went really well. First time there, the banquet room was booked for a private party (had a DJ), and we had to set up in the bar/restaurant side.
Tight stage area, but Ive had tighter. Plenty of our people came, and the dance area was packed. Last set a bunch of people from the party in the banquet room came and filled the dance area and anywhere there was space, people were dancing.
I expected this gig to be kinda dead, but it turned out to be one of the funnest.
Only down side to the night was the poor drummer wanted soooo badly to go to see Los Lonely Boys who were playing in town. haha I was afraid for a while there hed cut out on us, but of course, he didnt.
Tomorrow, a little crap bar, last time well play there, but between the good pay tonight and the crap pay tomorrow night, itll balance out.

Just got home from gig #2 with the new band. So many songs. So little time.

Last night had a gig with the new band, went pretty well, did a James Brown medley that got a lot of crowd response.
Tonight filling in with local blues guy, should be interesting. Blues band at a Chaldean group meeting.

New band, three of us work for the school system, so when schools in session we agreed wed take a weekend off once in while.
Anyways, Im really looking forwards to next Saturday, cause itll be drink and jam night here at Markos, like the old days, my buddy/drummer (whos in the band), another neighbor/buddy on guitar, another buddy on guitar and a good buddy on keys, and we jam jam jam. I usually wake up in my chair at some point in the AM, everything shut down and everyone gone, but hey, Im sure I had a great time.

Wine fest gig: Good. No wine, but we had our own warming agent. Cold, not cool, with worrisome gusts of wind, deep blue sky. Fortunately nothing significant blew over. A large mobile stage and a sound man that made it sound like the Hollywood Bowl. A damned bucolic setting, in the gentle hills surrounding Baltimore, MD (nicer than you think). Playing music outdoors for decent pocket money. Life: Good.
I'm playing my own bachelor party tonight. It's funny, cause my best man is my guitarist and my first groomsman is the drummer.
2 new venues in 2 days for us this weekend. We played Friday at a nice, private club an hour away. Decent money, used our small PA for easy setup, small but appreciative crowd and they loved us and we will be booked again. They even asked us about New Year's Eve. There was also a birthday party going on in the back room for a 2 year old and they opened up the place for those people as well. The kids came out and did the toddler bounce dance and had a great time.
Tonight, we are playing a very small room in my hometown that is one of the new local hotspots. We know we will do very well there and I am looking forward to the gig.

Playing a Bar Mitzvah! Haven't done one in ages, because up here in Montréal they mostly use DJs these days. Coincidentally it's in the synagogue where Leonard Cohen went as a kid. Acoustics are decent, and it's usually an elegant crowd there.
We set up yesterday because of Sabbath time constraints; so we get to sail in, switch on and play right away. Otherwise, will be an unremarkable social affair gig.
