My 1975 Ripper was my first quality bass as well, it has been with me since 1975 when I bought it brand new. Out all of my 13 basses it is still my favorite after 41 years

I have had any number of Rippers,Grabbers and G3s. While I like the set neck of the Ripper the Grabber is hands down my favorite, a real raw bawdy rock machine, not muddy at all but full of grit and growl. I always found Rippers and G3s to be to tame for me. All three are excellent build quality for the time.

Thanks. It's so dark, it was hard t o show that it was a deep wine red.
(it's a '78. I thought it might have been the even rarer walnut.)
