Quick question, does anyone have a Lace Sensor Man O’War precision pickup they could take a side on photo for me? I need to see how deep the mounting holes are.
Emailed Lace Sensor a few days ago and haven’t heard back, so assuming crickets.
Reason being I have a fun project on the go with...
Testing the waters on selling or trading my 1978 Gibson G3, an all-original, rare-finish, late-’70s survivor with the iconic clear Bill Lawrence pickups. This is the kind of G3 that collectors hang onto — original finish, original electronics, original hardware, and that rare Sunburst that...
I am attempting to install a Nordstrand Big Split 4 into a 70's Gibson Grabber. I'm a bit confused about where to land the leads from the Big Split on the existing pots. I have attached a few images of the internals of the Grabber.
The Nordstrand wiring instructions are as follows:
"The...
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to try my hand at winding my own pickups, and I figured I'd start by trying to clone the pickup on my favorite bass - the sliding pickup on the Gibson Grabber.
I've set my expectations low, and I understand I probably won't get 100% of the way there.
I don't want to...
I have a 1975 Gibson Grabber G3 that I bought for a project, but I have recently hung my days of playing in groups and in live situations and am thinning the herd of basses that were specific for those groups.

Putting this one out as a feeler. I have a Grabber G3 Tribute in great shape.
It was sold as a factory “B” stock because of some zipper indents on the forearm contour. There’s also a bit a finish wear, buckle rash and some other small signs of use. Nothing detrimental though. It’s also missing...

When my son was born (few decades ago) I sold my beloved 1976 G3 bass to buy baby food. He's all grown up now, so I found and bought a "very broken in" 1976 G3 bass. I'm thrilled, but have a long road ahead to restore. Biggest challenge, somebody replaced the bridge with a crummy screw-on, and...
Hello TBers,
This Friday I’m going to be trading my 2011 American Jazz Bass for a 2012 Gibson G3 Grabber Tribute. This won’t be my first G3, but it’ll be my first Tribute. I currently have a ‘75 and I previously had an ‘82.
I haven’t been able to find a whole lot about these tributes...
In recent years I switched over to musicman basses.
But I've always had a weak spot for gibson grabbers.
I've owned 5 in total but sold them all a few years ago.
I now have the plan to build my own, with the help of a friend who's a luthier. But is there anyone out there who can help me with...
My latest bass, a beautiful 1979 Gibson G-3, is going to need to be transported but there’s one problem... the body measures near enough 15 inches in width and I just can’t find any hard cases out there that have dimensions this wide. The Flying V style headstock is also wide so there is that to...
hello all, I recently purchased a 78 Gibson grabber and am in need of a hardshell case. Was wondering if anyone had an original case that would be willing to part with it or if anyone knows of any third party case (gator, sob, etc..) that will fit. Thanks for y’alls time
Hey everyone i recently purchased a 78 Gibson grabber and am in need of a hard shell case for it! Any help would be great even if it’s an original case or even a third party case. I just need something to protect it. Thanks for y’alls time!
Picked up a nice old Gibson Grabber on reverb for a great price... but it stinks. Great condition otherwise, completely stock including the bridge cover and case. The original hardware had a bit of corrosion and the pots were a bit scratchy, those were easy enough to clean up. I febreezed the...
I'm a big fan of the Gibson Grabber/Ripper but with their appreciation to the price they are now it's SUPER unlikely I'll be able to get one. So I've thought getting some sort of reasonably symmetrical round bodies bass and putting a grabber style pickguard on it. I thought maybe a Stingray...
I just bought this. I really wanted to love it & I just don't.
Could use a fresh set of strings & a set up.
My loss is your gain. Interested in other 4 string basses.

Does anybody know where I could find a pickup slider plate for my '76 Grabber G1? I know Chandler Music can make one out of regular pickguard material, or I found a 3D printed one with the ridges like the original, but in a rougher plastic and the price is pretty steep...

Gorgeous Gibson Grabber G3 1980 in excellent condition.
On the back of the neck there's a little vein that runs around the neck-joint: it’s likely that the fingerboard was opened and pasted again from the first owner to fix some issue on the trussrod, which now works absolutely great. Neck is...

'78 Gibson Grabber with some great, real wear. I've had Grabbers in the past, and although I love the tone, they always played poorly. Not this one. I randomly found this gal at Willie's in the Twin Cities and picked it up on impulse - & it's been my main player for the last three years! All...
