Gibson Grabber G3 TRIBUTE

Hello TBers,

This Friday I’m going to be trading my 2011 American Jazz Bass for a 2012 Gibson G3 Grabber Tribute. This won’t be my first G3, but it’ll be my first Tribute. I currently have a ‘75 and I previously had an ‘82.

I haven’t been able to find a whole lot about these tributes. Especially anything semi recent. From what I’ve seen everyone just has an issue with the pickup spacing and the pickups themselves not being much like the original BL’s.

So basically I’m just looking for some input on the matter. Should I expect the worst from this reissue or embrace the “modern upgrade?” I love everything that my ‘75 is so I’m hoping this will at least be somewhat decent.

1. The current owner doesn’t know how to use a stand hook
2.. Be wary of electric shock, as it appears to need to be plugged into a wall socket.
