Huh - up this way, Irene and Sandy pretty much taught the utilities to get off their duffs and start clearing the right-of-way's properly again. We've had far fewer "tree outages" since then.

bholder's pics are close enough to what I've got. It's a heavy wet mess, should be good business at the cardiac unit of the hospital (i.e. it's the classic "killer" snow that does in folks shoveling it.)

I measured 8" at 1PM, just measured 6" at the same spot, and it's been snowing the whole time - it's compacting down, going to be heavy. Time to break out the Wovel:

Bizarre, but easy and darn near fun. Although maybe not so much with this snow

Yup, that is what killed my grandfather in Boston.
