Just took a couple of minutes ago. The news media hyped up that we are getting a big storm with up to 1-1/2" of much needed rain. So far it has been a disappointment with just heavy mist at my house.
Huh - up this way, Irene and Sandy pretty much taught the utilities to get off their duffs and start clearing the right-of-way's properly again. We've had far fewer "tree outages" since then. bholder's pics are close enough to what I've got. It's a heavy wet mess, should be good business at the cardiac unit of the hospital (i.e. it's the classic "killer" snow that does in folks shoveling it.)
60mph winds, freezing rain/snow. Without power since about 10am ET. No pics because no WiFi...they’d take about 6 hours to upload.
I measured 8" at 1PM, just measured 6" at the same spot, and it's been snowing the whole time - it's compacting down, going to be heavy. Time to break out the Wovel: Bizarre, but easy and darn near fun. Although maybe not so much with this snow
I would, but it would only make you unhappy. Here in Vegas, it's currently about 70 F. outside. The sun is shining; the birds are singing; and the occasional little fluffy white cloud is drifting by...
