hi all, so from a bit of research on this forum i found that the bass sound from said track is created by a MAESTRO BASS BRASSMASTER effects unit and have since found that this is now pretty rare and pretty expensive. Any suggestions for a cheaper alternative or clone that can achieve that authentic dirty analogue sound? Thanks.

Yeah there are a number of people making clones. The Malekko B:Assmaster is supposedly one of the better ones, but it's not cheap. Various Brassmaster schematics are widely known and distributed among DIY pedal sites, so I'm sure you can find a hobbyist making them cheaply (though it may not sound or look as good as Malekko's). Try searching on Ebay for "brassmaster", as that may turn up any cloners trying to sell their wares there.

I know this an old thread - but I built one of these clones: Invalid Link Removed of the brass master - and I really love the tone - there is a lot of screetchy brassy tones but there is also a softer warmer side to the pedal with the slightly glitchy octave effect just adding a bit of definition to the sound. The demo record is hilarious - you can find it on youtube.
Might as well link the tune. Some will recognize it as the theme to HBO's "The Deuce". Killer bass!
