custom 45-100 Rotosound Swing 66

Salut !

I saw a luthier in France selling Rotosound swing 66 with custom gauge , if I remeber well : 45-65-80-100
The packaging is not the new orange, it's black ( I will take a picture soon )

Have you ever heard about that ?
Can't find anything about it on the net.

I think that's the gauge set I really want for my basses, but the luthier is selling them for approx 30-35 euros , so 10 to 15 euros more than the classic RS66LD on the net

I have bought 45-65-85-105 sets in the standard orange packaging.

I have also bought other Rotosound sets (77 flatwound 40-100, anything 55 Solo Bass) that came in the black "custom" package.

I would think you should be able to find 45-65-85-105 for a price comparable to RS66LD... seems surprising to me that that set would be a black custom package.

It was in fact something like 45-65-80-100

Rotosound has a wide variety of "PRE PACKAGED" string sets in the "Swing Bass 66" line.

Stainless:
30-85
30-90
35-90
40-95
40-100
43-110 - Sheehan
45-65-80-105 - Their most popular set
45-65-85-105
50-110

That is just their 4-String standard tuning sets.

In the Nickel line they have:

40-100
45-100
45-105

In their Rotobass Nickel they have a few more:

35-95
40-100
45-105
50-110

They do also offer singles which can be used to make a 45-100 set.

When it comes to packaging... Sometimes they do not sell enough of a set to justify making its own packaging or they are out of it, so they have a generic black packaging that they add a sticker too... like pictured below... A dealer or "luthier" can order some quantities of a "custom gauged" set and have a sticker applied just like these...

The only 45-65-80-100 Swing set they list on their website is in nickel rather than steel. They make the individual 45, 65, 80, 100 strings in steel of course, but don't list that as a set.

The nickel 45-100 set RS66LN seems generally available, though I don't know where would be best to order from for delivery in Paris. One example store:
