Custom bass club #1

Im really digging it. Its a little odd to adjust to in the upper registers, but i rarley go up that high anyways. But the volume balance is perfect, intonation is perfect, and the string to string tension feels much more even.

Its tuned E-C, so that 36" E is super tight feeling, which is a big issue to me on traditional basses..

First of all, what a beautiful and well made bass! I went to Dolan's website, and have entered his info in my PDA, and want to stop be on my next trip to Santa Rosa. I grew up on Shortt Rd, not far from Montgomery Village, although my family lived in Sebastopol, during my high school years at Analy. Go Tigers!

Seriously though, I will contact Mike at some point in the near future about making a bass for me. Nothing like supporting home-town business!:smug:

Well... The bass I love the most:

My Birdsong Cortobass...

Walnut center, ebony stringers, sycamore wings (I had never even seen sycamore... the stuff is walid in person...). Lace pickups... sounds beautiful and looks it!

That was the original plan, to have the brown be the wood and the green dots that were there originally repainted on. But I got lazy, had a gig, mumble mumble, and havent gotten around to it.
I think I'll just paint it white like the others... matching those colors would be hard.

Oh...............Can you explain deeper please ? A Jaco's story here?

Pitch in man,

Sly

Ahhh yes that's an excelent story. It was when weather report playen in copenhagen. He build a bass then and went to copenhagen to show it to Jaco and let him play it so he could try it out. He found it really good and thought it was a gift. It wasn't and apparently he wouldn't pay so Mørch took it back. Everybody is equal in his shop. Great guy
