Custom Design, recommendations?

Well after thinking about it some and testing a few different products. I have decided on a way different pup/preamp combination.

I have decided to go with an Audere 3ZB 4-Band EQ, and Nordstrand Signature Dual Coils. I made a post in the pickups section asking about the Nordys a couple days ago, but I finally got to play a bass equipped with them. I absolutely loved them!

And after doing some more research on the Audere stuff, and listening to some sound clips, I'm really looking forward to playing around with this thing. The different Z-modes all sound really good, and having complete control over two midrange frequencies is awsome. My goal is to make this bass as versatile as possible, because I play all extremes of music. So I think that this setup will be better suited to handle any kind of musical setting im playing in, one extreme to the other.

or atleast thats the idea. hah. opinions?

Crazy, man. I've been putting my dream custom bass together, and your design is 90% identical, down to the bubinga/mahogany body, brass frets, BFTS, even the 34.5" scale :)... The only major difference was that I was thinking "ahh i'd put an audere and some nordstrand dual coils in"... and then come to see you've decided on the same thing... It's too bad you're not done with it yet, i'd love to see how it turns out!

unfortunately it hasnt even started being built yet. and well i havent even really decided on who i would like to build it. some things came up and the fund for this bass is a little low right now. but hopefully sometime in the near future i can get things started.

as for the design, i guess we both have good taste :bassist:

although i have changed some minor things since i last posted the specs. I'll keep you updated on my final design and the progress of the bass when it comes to that.

thanks for the compliments on the design fellas.

and no i dont mind at all if you tinker with it. it's cool to see what other people would do. maybe it can give me some ideas. so anyone who wants too... tinker away.

btw, no offense man, but that shape you drew up is alot different than my drawing.

as for the headstock, i drew a few things sort of similar to your shape, but i really havent decided what i want yet.
