sorta like that, maybe but i did make a "photoshop" version of what it could look like

. Knowing my dad, i wouldn't want to give him something flashy so not neon or light green. Something relatively close to the photoshop green or a tad darker. But not by much.

I tired finding it, but where i am, it's pretty much like a special order or something so i just got some Krylon Emerald Green & surprisingly, it's better than i expected :D. Thank you for your help :P

So yesterday, after months of not doing anything to this bass body

*Note: the exposed wood has been painted black (acrylic paint applied with small brush). It looks great. the flake is very nice & it'll look even better after some clear coat shots & a sweet polish. The emerald color took me by surprise as it's even better than i actually thought it would be :D all in all, it's hanging to dry til next thursday.

P.s. The schaller bridge will hopefully be ordered before i'm done with it at the end of june. Can't wait to hear this monster growl again & sound/feel even better than my first attempt.

It's been a while! I've added a few layers to the body & it looks much better. Only a few more weeks til it's complete, the bridge will follow shortly after it's completion. Ben focused on a number of other projects in the meantime, & i've also started gathering parts for my Ripper bass build later on. Almost done cutting out the pickguard & i've got the 3p4w rotary switch & a few wiring options (the original, Neck only mod replacing the out of phase)

The last wiring is where i'd need help if any can. Pickups are lipstick GFS humbuckers where it has red, white, black, green & bare wires. Essentially, i'd like to have the following options:

Position 1: Both In series in phase, Single coil
Position 2: Both Parallel in phase, Single coil
Position 3: Both In series in phase Humbucker
Position 4: Both Parallel in phase Humbucker

Would like to know if A) Possible wiring scheme, B) How to proceed with it. Knowledge of electronics is limited & a rotary switch is new to me.

Looks great Andy! (green glitter/sparkle & black) I didn't read every post, but judging by your conceptual image - it appears you're using a Gibby mud-bucker. They are not cheap, but the Novak Darkstar would kill in your bass both in style and awesome tone delivery. Or a Guild DS for less, but I can't attest to how it sounds. I have a few very good sounding basses with different pu's of superior tone - but the Novak seriously rules.

This is the pickup i'm using Gibson Style Bass Humbucking Neck Pickup | Allparts.com Novak Darkstar would be killer, but, my dad's always liked the mudbucker pickup. The fat tone it gave, & when gene simmons used it in a few basses too. He's always loved that tone & look, so i figured i could give him that. Plus the pickup sounds pretty killer as is. It'd be cool to have a preamp with it, maybe in the future, but now, it just sounds awesome. Well at least i know it sounds awesome.

Greetings,

Today is an interesting day. Amongst my supernova & tiger bird build, & a broken headstock fix for a bandmate, I took a look at my grabber & realized, that with all the coats of clear, it's still not level. Plus there's very minimal flake showing through (that's kinda my fault, i sprayed the green overtop doh! :banghead: ). SO i took to a chisel, some sandpaper & it's looking better now. Just finished putting on a couple coats of paint to hide the black paint peeking through underneath & applied the flakes overtop. I'm pleased to say, that this is a good day for it.
