Does anyone know how I would go about doing this? I really want a stealth Bongo 6 with a pickup in the sweet spot and an unlined ebony board!

Ernie Ball does not to custom instruments.

Practice, practice, practice. Form a great band, get really famous and offer to endorse EBMM. They would probably accomodate you.

Only famous people are worthy. We are not. I've been informed this. If you think you deserve one, EBMM fans will tell you otherwise.![]()
If you want to fund an expansion of their factory and their personnel to start a full on custom shop then give Sterling a call. Otherwise, stop acting like you're a victim and don't be so obtuse.
As for a helpful answer, I believe those are all available options, so give a Musicman dealer like www.dubaldomusic.com www.theperfectbass.com or www.basscentral.com
Basscentral actually has an unlined bongo 4hs in stock, so it shouldn't be a problem to order one.

I don't want to look like a fool at a Guitar Center or something.![]()
Well the one thing about buying out of State is you won't have to pay sales tax, and often times you can work free shipping. (except GC are bogarts, they will always charge sales tax on out of State sales.)
Thanks guys! Yeah, I actually did some research to see what could be done with a Bongo, and it took much searching before I found the unlined fretless Bongo on basscentral.com. Basscentral will likely be my last resort, since I really want to see my options locally. Will any authorized MusicMan dealer be able to do this? If so, are they obligated to take my order? I don't want to look like a fool at a Guitar Center or something.![]()
Hey don't be afraid to use Bass Central. Beaver and his crew are wonderful people to work with. I ordered my first Music Man from them in April and have order two more since then. They have treated me so well, they are actually the only place I will buy a Music Man bass from unless one comes out that is something like a Guitar Center exclusive in the future that I fall in love with but other than that one exception, I will always buy from Bass Central!
J-Building said:I only expressed reluctance to use Bass Central because they were in Texas. There are a few MusicMan dealers very close to where I live, and I figured that I could probably save a bit on shipping since I could easily pick up the bass.
Bass Central is in Florida, quite a ways away from Texas.
The Musicman factory doesn't stockpile any instruments at all. Everything ordered is built to order, so if you place an order, you will be waiting roughly ~4 months to receive your bass. Maybe see if GC can do stock-checks from other stores.
I've ordered several times from MM, but only when the bass I wanted didn't exist in any store.
