I purchased this bass from a wealthy entrepreneur in Poland who was "downsizing" following the purchase of a custom ordered Fodera to maintain domestic tranquility (read, wifey)… It arrived with flatwound strings which it performed well with. It has new R. Cocco roundwounds on it now. I truly remarkable instrument with quatersawn maple neck, most responsive truss I've ever encountered, lightweight ash body (7.5 pounds), frets as new- in fact, the instrument presents as new. Long discontinued Wilkinson adjustable Japan made bridge... Split coil Lollar pickup... Just GREAT!!! Feels better than many Sadowskys I've had opportunity to play. Great playability and tone!! These basses offer a tremendous quality... This one is way higher than stock! I cannot overemphasize the departure from the "norm" of this bass versus a stock model. The guy I bought it from has an extensive collection of great basses and, more to the point, several super nice custom ordered Mensinger basses. I believe he is tight from a customer standpoint with them due to previous orders and proximity... This is a KILLER CUSTOM SHOP Maruszycyk- (Thanks Adrian!!)
Is it just the picture or has lacquer sunk into the wood? Is it smooth or is it rough to the touch? 1.5" Nut width? Thx.
I am interested, I wanted a bass that was like a P bass, but I have a P bass, but it needs bigger tone... the 50's tele P bass came to mind because of the position of the pickup, but I didn't just want a fender, the construction of this looks good, I just hope the neck is very dead straight and the action is low with no buzz. If you'll ship to canada send me a PM, as your INBOX is full. Thanks.
