But I already did that back in part 1,2 or 3 I can't remember which. :D

Oh shoot, I disappear for a little while and now we got an OG CWB'r posting again! Welcome back Sam!

On another note I think I've compiled a list of songs to start with for my bar project after talking to the other guys that are interested...and it goes a little something like this, HIT IT :scowl::

La Grange- ZZ Top
Vertigo- U2
Should I Stay or Should I Go - The Clash
Jesse's Girl - Rick Springfield
Jenny (867-5309) - Tommy Tutone
Summer of 69 - Bryan Adams
Naughty Naughty - John Parr
Funky Cold Medina - ToneLoc
Boys of Summer - The Ataris
Wildthing - ToneLoc
Tush - ZZ Top
Last Kiss - Pearl Jam
I Bet That You Look Good On The Dance Floor - Arctic Monkeys
Red Solo Cup - Toby Keith
My Sharona - The Knack
Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet
Island In the Sun - Weezer
Hard To Handle - Black Crowes
Lonely Boy - Black Keys
Bottoms Up - Nickelback [specifically for bars]

At the moment these are all just ideas, what its really going to come down to is what our singer is going to be able to pull off. I recruited a friend of mine and he's a hell of a showman. He's sang and played guitar in a few other bands but I'm not sure if his voice is going to be versatile enough, I guess we'll find out :hyper:

Sam the bassist?
Nope, but you can call me that if you'd like.;)
I think that's a different Sam.

Anyway, hey, Samantha. What have you been up to? :)
Fixing lots of basses, several guitars, random studio gear and indulging in the occasional all nighter.
ROFL. Well, a dude guitarist surrounded by 3 female musicians might seem indecent to some people, but I doubt it would to the folks on this thread. :D

Anyway, here's my 2 favorite songs from the gig:

Juicy

Sonic Cherry - Juicy (Feb. 3, 2012) - YouTube

And Hit The Road Jack (The guest singer is my hubby.)

Sonic Cherry - Hit The Road, Jack / La Grange (Feb. 3, 2012) - YouTube

sound good.:) btw. what's the back story on the avatars.
Noses are hot.

Sometimes.

Great Job! You hubby does have a good set of pipes on him. Not an easy part to do well and he got it right on.

nope, Thand might kill me for that. He's good friends with her.

PassivAgressiv's hubby did the drawings for her band's logo (had their whole female line-up). She adopted her icon as her Avatar and he offered to do the Avatars for FurryMonkey and Tat2dHeart. I bet if you PM a pic to her and ask real nice he'd do the same for you. Though he dies use a little artisitic license in certain areas of female anatomy but I know none of us really mind!

Two bands with beautiful women..be still my heart.

Hey, hubby did a nice job!

Hubz rocks! Great job, all you Cherries! :smug::bassist:

Thanks to you all, and I'll pass along the comments re: the hubz. Yeah, he's a man of many talents - drawing, singing, writing, graphic design - the best of his talents aren't suitable for public viewing, though. :D

Jeez, all he's got on his face is a little smirk? If I was surrounded by three musical hotties like that I'd have a colossal s**t eating grin on my face.

... not to mention a colossal something else somewhere else. :D  ;)

This is his one facial expression. He uses it for happy, sad, pissed off, turned on, etc. Staying this mellow and even-keel is the only way to survive being in a band with three women and all the pursuant girl hormones and girl drama.

He's the most laid-back person I know. He's very quiet and chill. (Not that he could get a word in edge-wise with the 3 of us chatterboxes!) :bassist: :D

I think these songs are great choices for the bar scene - they are mostly upbeat, easily recognizable, danceable tunes. Have fun and keep us updated on how it goes!

Nice! (I waited until I had some headphones handy to play the clips.) Great to hear and see you in action, instead of just still pics. You guys sound great and ... you look great (that's a major understatement). :bassist:

Caught some of the other ones on FB too. They sounded good too.

Thanks, guys. It means a lot coming from such awesome, experienced bassists as you two. :bassist:

So, I may end up being in a band soon! Super happy, haven't been in a band for half a year now.

Congrats!

I showed up to practice today a bit hungover..apparently my bandmates were a bit out of it too, and our second guitarist was still in Dallas on a business trip. I decided to try recording our practice session using a cheap Rock Band mic and Audacity..I'm fairly pleased with the result.

Great set list. You should add Everything is Broken by Bob Dylan, too. I learned to play that this weekend. Fun to play.
