thanks...you too! getting ready to fire up the Harley Ultra and ride. I have 1/2 a day comp banked and it is the end of the month so I better use it. Ciao!

I had to go on a field trip this morning... It was for work, but it was a little over 100 mile trip.. I used it as an excuse for a little "wind therapy"

My harley was running great. I had to show off a little though. There was a guy with a road king, with obnoxiously loud pipes, at the station where I filled up. He was showing off, and blew by me leaving. When I went by him, he had his bike would as tight as it would go, and he was not looking happy about his view of my tail lights.

Hey Lee, go put on some roadrace leathers, a full face helmet, and take that thing to the track!

I hope they had their stereos blaring..that would make it epic.

Ok CWB'ers, I need some advice. We are doing a backyard gig at my bandleader's house on May 26. I am going to be using my 210 cab, and am wondering if I should elevate it a bit or leave it on the ground.

First of all, I wear a Cortech jacket... The road race style coats are tighter around the middle. I find that the 2XL is a good fit, when I remove the armor

secondly, my tall bars are not really optimal for curves. I have done a lot of the dyno drags though. My 129 inch engine (2113CCs) put down 161 rear wheel horsepower and 149 lb ft of torque with the old carb and exhaust, and without the nitrous. The old carb was too small though. It was a 42MM S&S super G. Now I run a super G that is bored to 47MM, with two external thunder jets, and an adjustable main jet. I have an air/fuel meter mounted to the rear head, working off the rear O2 sensor. It lets me fine tune the carb at any time. I also had to add an electric fuel pump, because the engine could suck the float bowl dry

The Nitrous system is a 45 horse Edelbrock "Hot Shot" wet kit. With that, I surprise a lot of the crotch rockets, at the dyno drag events

LOL I was just teasing you man. That's cool about the dyno drag stuff.

Bet you got answers, but elevate or tip it back. Bass is said to stay low and you might have trouble hearing yourself.

Kick it back on an angle.

with a 210 outdoors, I would elevate it a bit. Indoors, you'll get some resonance from the floor and the room will hold the sound in a little. Outdoors, the ground will just soak up the sound and you're throwing it out there into the wind or whatever there is. I would get it up so that it's a least a little closer to ear level and be prepared to crank it. :bassist:

of course, if it's a really small backyard my advice could be all wrong and get everyone mad at you ... :D

you could elevate your 210 by putting it on top of a 115. :D

(guess what cabs I'm currently drooling over ...)

That's another option. Again, it depends on the backyard. Elevating it but keeping it facing forward puts the sound right at people a little more. Angling it will let you hear it better, but not necessarily so for someone who is, say, 50 feet away.

Thanks Chuck! His back yard, at least in terms of where we will be playing and where the audience will be is probably 30-40 ft at most. I'll drag a milk crate with me and set it on top of that.
