Czech Spector

i just put a 2nd hand spector 4 string on layby this afternoon...and theres one thing i noticed when i just had a look at the website..the one im getting doesnt have the "crown" inlays...just std dot posi markers?...its a euro neck through 4...exactly the same as this one color and all, but the position markers are different? does that mean anything..or is mine just special:eyebrow:

According to the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] on the Spector website, the dot-lnlaid Czech NS4/5-CR were produced from 1994-1998. As for the "why", I imagine it was simply to differentiate them from the USA made models when the output from Europe (and the reborn Spector company as a whole) wasn't nearly as large as it is today.

im only paying $1500aus for it...one other thing i noticed, my wings are solid flame maple instead of alder with the maple cap like the new ones on the website

Right, yours is the 94-98 era bass. I bought two of those back in 94/95 and then when I bought another in 99 it had the crown inlays. Great basses. All three I had came with the EMG preamps, over the past few years, they have changed to a couple different preamps, and as you noticed, they used different woods for the body.

Relax...The bass looks like an old-school Czech model. Five years ago I bought your new baby's twin, used, in cherry red, and it was a great bass. Heavy, but it felt as solid as granite, balanced and played great, and the EMG pickups and preamp killed. I'd still have it if my wife didn't need three diamonds on her left hand.

nice..i love it..cant wait to bring it home....a friend of mine..who works at the store im buying it from has one of those SSD 5ers and its real damn nice..and a new euro 5 string the same color as mine...both are real nice...but theres something about this one that's just more tonally solid :D ...i cant wait to try it out through my fender 400pro/peavey 2x15 rig...ohhhh yeaaahhhhh
