Double Bass D&G String to pair with 5 year old Animas

Does anyone have any thoughts on what would pair well to create a hybrid set with an old broken in set of E & A Anima strings?

Unfortunately, I broke my D String on my beloved set of Animas and now that velvet is out of business I can't replace them.

My other option would be to buy a whole new set of something else. Maybe Zyex or Kolstein Heritage. (I know this topic of what is closest to velvet has been covered but if you have any ideas let me know!)

Hard to say without hearing your bass with a variety of other strings on it, but on my German bass I'm liking an Oliv D and a Chorda G...

IMO, a first option could be the D and G Zyex Lights, they have similar tension, gauge, sound.
D & G Velvet Blues would be nice also, if you can still find them.
Personally I don't like Kolstein Heritage, they sound kind of plastic to my ears.

+1 for Ed´s and Panos´suggestions. If you play mostly pizzicato I would also consider Innovation Super Silvers.

I regularly got 5+ years with Animas, only had two strings break on me during the time I was using them. I know some folks had more problems, but it wasn't true for me...
