D & G strings at lower volume than E & A

Hi to all!
My bass is an active pickup bass. The E and A strings sound great, but the D and G strings come through at a considerably lower volume.
I'm not familiar with repair techniques, so I am wondering if anyone has any ideas/suggestions as to how this issue can be resolved. Thank yo and good day.

You may want to check the pickup height. Too far away is less signal. Too close and the magnetism can nut the strings.

It's usually a sign of a need for a good setup. It would also help to know which bass you have.
Most likely your pickups aren't active, but your bass has an active preamp. Pickups are 99% passive.

Excellent! I moved the pickup (the bridge pickup I guess?) up just a bit closer to the strings and now the volume is equal throughout the bass. Thanks for the help.
