D-tuner question.

Hi, feel free to move this to a different forum (not sure where to put it), but I want to put a D-tuner on my '76 P bass, and I'm wondering if anybody makes one that will drop to Eb as well as D. I actually drop to Eb more often. Thanks,

Hipshot's the way to go - infinitely variable so Eb not a problem. They call them Xtenders. www.hipshot.com and most likely at BT2 is what you need.

The amount it drops is not preset; you set it with a thumbscrew.

Cool, thanks guys. But what about a drop-tuner that will stop at Eb and D without having to adjust it (having 2 notches or something)? Is there such a thing?

Not heard of one of those, unfortunately. With the Xtender you'd need to tune to D and then use the frets for your Eb.

Never heard of a drop-tuner that had 2 different presets.

Buy a 5 string.
Put the Xtender on the E string and set it to go to E-flat.
Tune the B to D.
Then you'll have all your bases err basses covered.
