No problem. I wasnt actually aware of what LiquidMidnight said regarding changing ticket prices, its just what I always do when comparing prices online. Seems like a practice that should circumvent the price change.
I've actually been experimenting with this for a couple weeks. I put some items in my cart, and watch them to see how they go up or down. One item started at $149 and dropped about a dollar per day until it hit around $132. Then it shot up to $158. When it was at its low, I had another friend get on Amazon to see if his price was different, but it was the same price I saw.
I don't think they adjust an individual user's price. There seems to be price battles between different sellers. There may be algorithms where seller A tries to price his widget a little cheaper than seller B. And seller B may have a different algorithm based on how well the item is selling, or how many people are looking at it or whatever.
Sometimes they end up in a loop. There was a story a while back where 2 sellers were listing the same book. Each seemed to be basing their price on the other. Seller A actually owned the book, and seller B was apparently planning to sell the same book and drop ship it from seller A. So seller B priced his at 10% above seller A. But seller A was trying to be cost competitive and priced his book at 5% less than seller B. Every iteration of their pricing algorithms resulted in the book increasing in price gradually, and before they knew it, the books was listed for millions of dollars.
I recently put a Rolls personal monitor PM351 in my cart. Every day it changes from $73.00 to $80.30 or vice versa. So they have some sort of algorithm that causes it to cycle back and forth daily.
So if you want to buy something from Amazon, put it in your cart and watch the patterns. Then buy when it's low. It's like playing the stock market.

Lol, you guys are totally missing my point. I know why prices fluctuate, but this product was one price for months (Plus or minus 50 cents), and then, right when I go to buy it, it is suddenly $10 more! I think I checked the price last night, and it was $47.99, which was up from $47.49 at the low point.
But I should really be ranting about Netflix. They pulled all but one episode of the show. And they've been pulling all of my other favorites, too.

Yep...you need to somehow get the Channel 4 catch-up player 4OD. I've done every episode of FT to death..and I still giggle out loud. There's some brilliant archive stuff on there...Black Books, Absolutely, Brass Eye,all the Comic Strip stuff, Inbetweeners, Face/Fonejacker, IT Crowd, Phoneshop...and all for free.
