D'Addario Praise!!!

I've been using D'Addario strings for a while now and they are AWESOME!!! I have yet to have any bad strings, they are consistently perfect, and last a long time!!
All of my basses have them now:
ProSteels for the Benavente SCD5, Low End Jazz 5, and Stingray HS4, and XLNickels for my Elrick Fretless 5 (I use a tapered low B on the f-less).
Just thought I'd celebrate!!! :hyper:

I originally started using them because they're cheap. I still use them because they're great. And cheap. I use SIT's on my 8 string because D'addario doesn't make an extra light 8 string set but everything else gets D'addarios. I just bought 4 twin packs for $17 each. Can't beat that!

I started using them in the early 80's because;

they had the nice new roundwound string sound much longer than the Rotosounds did

They were inexpensive (still are, JimmyM is right on about that)

I liked their guitar strings,a nd you can get D'addarios anywhere

I wanted a set of flatwounds to go with my MIM Fender Jazz to bring out the warm tones. Through a recommendation, I ended up with a set of D'Addario XL Chromes ECB81. I hated them when they first went on the bass. They sounded pretty bright. I heard through this forum that the flats tend to sound better when broken it. So instead of throwing 28 bucks out the window. I figured lets see. After about 8 hrs of breaking them in and cleaning the string residue off my fingers, the bass started to sound like I was hoping for. I am about a week into the strings now have about 30 or so hours on them. They sound awesome, even tone and easy on the fingers. I dont know if I will stay with D'Addario, but it would be difficult for someone to convince me to try another flatwound brand. I am very happy with them and im hoping they last a while, id hate to break in a new set right away.

Yes. Great strings and they last really long. I usually use XL's and currently I use Prosteels. And I haven't broke any d'addario string ever. And believe me, I broke many strings (slap). If you slap they are great because they never snap. And they stay fresh for long time. Just really quality strings.

I use ProSteels, XL's, and the Halfrounds currently.
3 out of 4 of my basses are strung with D'Addario's.
One bass is strung with DR Nickel Lo-Riders.
I love the way the ProSteels sound and for stainless strings they are pretty smooth feeling.

I always use D'Addarios. I have three electric basses and a Chapman Stick. I change the strings on all of them about four times a year and I have never had a bad string! Their strings are inexpensive and durable and of high quality.
