Daily Morning Routine

I've been working out lately, for the past four months or so, and I've started seeing some results that I would like to make permanent. I know staying away from alcohol and fast food is key. I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing, I just want to add maybe some stretches and some sit up/ push up stuff type of stuff in the morning. so what's your morning routine?

A good 20 minute cardio exercise first thing in the morning can definitely help you shed some lbs with ease. Doesn't matter what it is (jogging, jump roping, jumping jacks, etc...) so long as you do it.

6am wake up, run downstairs for clothes
610 stand in shower for 15 minutes half asleep
625 wash self really quickly
630 nap for 15 minutes while air drying
645 get dressed, brush teeth
655 out door on my way to the office
755 arrive in office, boot computer, go get breakfast
somewhere around 1000, once i'm caffeinated, i become a productive member of society

4:30 wake up, usually cursing at my alarm clock.
4:33 brush teeth, put on deodorant.
4:40 put on work cloths.
4:50 take my dog on his morning walk.
5:05 get on the computer and mess around for a while.
5:20 locate my wallet, truck keys, cell phone
5:30 leave the house
5:40 Get a sausage kolache, or a donut at Texas Donuts
5:50 Get to work and start 10 hours of sweating in the Houston TX heat at a chemical plant.

I did a 25 minute walk on the treadmill at the club yesterday- 2.5MPH with the incline set to 11 (don't know if it's degrees or %, but I sweated my ass off). I definitely felt it this morning- not sore, but my legs & stuff felt more toned. This AM, I went down to the lakefront to climb the stairs- Up/down/up, then over to the corner sidewalk and down to the bottom, back up the hill (8 total passes- 4 up/4 down, all on the hill) and then back to the stairs to go down/up/down before leaving. When I go up the stairs, I take them two at a time and one at a time on the way down. I feel that walking on flat surfaces is basically a waste of time, so I try to use hills all the time.

This stuff is addictive! I think I'm going to walk every day at the club if the weather sucks or outside if it doesn't. My weight loss seems to be stuck at -30 lb and I want to lose another 50.

5am: Snooze.
5:10: Snooze.
5:20: Snooze.
5:30: Get kicked by girlfriend because the alarm keeps going off.
5:31: Get up, put on clothes.
5:35: Out the door.
5:55: Clock in at work and start 10 (or maybe 12 or maybe even 16) hours on a printing press.
6:00: First cup of coffee to return me to my human form.

I love snoozing. I purposefully set my alarm early so I can snooze.

I personally would not recommend working out in the morning unless you can have a good hour for you body to wake up!
It takes a while for your muscles, ligaments, etc to warm up and it is really easy to injure yourself if you do intense stretches or workout straight out of bed.

My routine is:

10:30 wake up, get out of bed, (i know, scandalous! I actually don't even use an alarm, i always wake up at 10:30...)
10:40 eat breakfast, 2 cups raw oats with 2tbs of yoghurt and a handful of blueberries.
10:45 to 11:45 take care of things on the computer, answer mails, business.
11:45 leave the flat, go to Brazilian jiu-Jitsu training from 12 to 2pm

day/evening of work

do an hour of yoga around 11pm later if it was a gig night

go to bed between 2 and 4 am

Start again...

It might seem like a strange way of living to most people, but i hate mornings with a passion. I prefer to live in the evening/night. I am a full time bass player so my work rarely needs me to be up early.
It is easier for me to have a constant rhythm of late nights than to feel like crap after late gig nights.
Also, it gives me time to train during the day and do a lot of photography which is my main hobby.

10:00 AM wake up and put on clothes
10:05 AM surf talkbass for a bit
10:12 AM take a quick shower
10:25 AM go outside for a cigarette
10:35 AM brush my teeth and put on deodorant
10:45 AM leave for work to get there 12 minutes early
11:00 AM start working

Definitely said:
Sleep til 11, get up and go sleep on the couch til noon, eat lunch, sit around all afternoon...

Or, during training season: get up at 9, run 12 miles, get home, sit around all afternoon...

To put it in steps:
11:00 Wake up the first time and start browsing TalkBass on my iPod
12:30 Finish browsing TalkBass on my iPod do I get up and make lunch
1:00 Go play baseball with a friend. If no friends are available go play bass for the rest of the day.

Running season:
9:00 Wake up, get up, eat a granola bar
9:45 Warm up a bit with some short jogs in the basement
10:00 Leave the house for a run
11:00-12:00 Depending on how long the run is, get home and shower
Eat lunch.

My life is one long day,at least that what it seems like..hell when the kids re off from school for the summer I dont even know what day it is half the time!

4am-wake up for the 20th time and get up for the day (no alarm clock, it is built in me)
405am- get first cup of coffee and watch the news
5am-go to 7-11 for a cappuccino
530am-go up to studio and surf TB for a while
11am-eat something thats not good for me
1130am-take shower, clean house, laundry..ect.
12pm-back to studio to surf web and practice bass
4pm-star dinner and watch some tube
9pm-time for another night of trying to sleep

REPEAT EVERY DAMN DAY!!!!!

I know I am pathetic, going on 2 years with this schedule.

I know staying away from alcohol ... is key.

Whoever told you that was lying. ;)

Ive actually been thinking of waking up a half hour earlier to get in some morning yoga/meditation and excersise, alternating days, of course.

As it is now, I wake up at 6:30 - shower - get dressed - check facebook - drive to work. Thats my weekday.

Weekends - Sleep in til 11 or so. Do whatever.
