Daisy Chaining Question

If I took 3 cabs, 3 1x12 at 8 ohms. (They are also 4 ohms switchable)

1x12 cab (8 ohms) > amp cable > ..
1x12 cab (8 ohms) > amp cable > ..
1x12 cab (8 ohms) > amp cable > ..
Then the head. Which should be at 2 ohms, correct?

Or

1x12 cab (8 ohms) > amp cable > ..
1x12 cab (8 ohms) > amp cable > ..
then head
and 1x12 cab (4 ohms) > amp cable > ..
and head again. This would still be 2 ohms, correct?
 
#1: 2.67 ohms
#2: 2.0 ohms

Head should be rated at 2 ohms or you might start to smell overheated electronics.

Handy calculator tool on that website. So my follow up question, would be..

4 ohm cab > 8 ohm cab > 8 ohm cab to head

or

4 ohm cab to head
and
8 ohm cab > 8 ohm cab to head

In these 2 scenarios, would the 3 cabs be receiving the same displacement/power/wattage?

There is no advantage to running any of them at a different impedance. Higher risk of damage to those with lowest impedance.

When using identical speakers, use them in identical fashion.

2.7 ohms. Is that bad for a head running at 2 ohms? I'm never heard/seen a rig at that impedance or if its even appropriate.

It really does not matter if you use one speaker cable to the first cab and then run speaker cables between the other two cabs (daisy-chain) or run two speaker cables from the amp and only "chain" one. Leave all three at 8 ohms.

2 ohms minimum means go no lower than that number with a SS amp, higher numbers are fine.

IF you are running a tube amp the 2 ohm tap is closer to the 2.67 ohm load than the 4 ohm tap.
