Dan Hawkins Bass Instruction

I wanted to post about Dan Hawkins and his bass materials. I saw that there weren't any threads on this here.

Dan Hawkins is a pro bass player, and he has courses and books at onlinebasscourses.com and fundamentalchanges.com.

I started working with his Funk Grooves book at Fundamental Changes, and I find it to be an excellent book, accompanied with lots of audio and play-alongs.

I had a question on fingering for the second exercise of the book, and he responded to my email with very helpful information.

He also has videos on YouTube. Worth checking out.

I'm also surprised to see very few threads about him, I've just discovered his lessons when serching about harmonics, it's the best content I have found on the topic. Now exploring the other topics, everything seems to be covered in an excellent way.

I especially like the way he explains theory first, but tehn always ends up showing how you can concretely use each technique and incorporate it into your own playing.

I'll bump this over certain other threads

Dan's You Tube playlist seems reasonably well grouped by subject

But , for example the theory playlist did not seem well ordered
compared to the logical progression of the same subject at Talkingbass
I think Dan -or rather players looking to learn form him- would benefit from some more thoughtful organization of his lessons

People spend hundreds or more on Some Bass Lessons
I have always contended that all the info is available for free for those willing to make the effort
The largest drawback is the scattershot algorithm organization.
It is a service to students of all kinds when the content is organized in a logical, pedagogically consistent manner
Each clip in the playlist builds on the previous one as much as possible.

At least I think that would be nice
