Danelectro Dead on 58 Longhorn?

Ok so I have some major GAS and I am looking for a new toy. I'm not looking to spend much money right now and I've always wanted a Danelectro so since Guitar Center has 20% off right now (excluding nearly every brand), I was thinking about picking one up. Couldn't find too many reviews on this bass so I thought I'd float it out there and see what you guys think. Anyone have one of these? Love/Hate it? I know it is what it is...a cheap bass that is very unique and cool if you're into it but is it gig-worthy? Thanks for your input!

i wanted one of those until my luthier yelled at me and told me that i had a great fender and why in the hell would i want to buy a danelectro, then i noticed that i can get that kind of sound out of my pignose hog 30 anyway with my hwy 1 precision (i might buy a longhorn for closer to 200 not closer to 400)

I have it in my cart for the 160 but just checked my accounts and it's a no go. Spent all my money on emergency dental work a few weeks ago. :crying: :crying: :crying:

The good thing is that I am old enough to know that there will always be another deal coming down the road 8)

Maybe this is the universe telling me I need to give my tendons some more rest. I miss my old Dano but there will be another, I guess. At least my teeth don't hurt as much as they did.

Thanks for the help with the codes.

Mine actually shipped at that price, so I assume I'll get it, but I don't think that it's objectively worth a penny more. Too many things wrong with the design, like using guitar machines and its extremely weak bridge mount, and the strings are ultralight to compensate for these weaknesses.

We'll see. :hmm:
