May I ask why?
The 6 saddle bridge is flimsy and bends in the middle. It's too narrow for the neck and the string spacing doesn't get as wide as I wanted. The Senn bridge has better transference, slightly wider string spacing, and no rattles.

May I ask why?
I forgot I had a set of GHS Balanced nickel strings which were too sort for my 32" scale bass, but they fit perfectly on the Dano and sound good. The bass just sort of asks to be played with a pick.I just replaced a set of GHS Pressurewonds with Chrome Flatwounds. The Pressurewounds were definitely brighter sounding. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.
And for what it's worth, I have no issues with the original saddle either...
Thanks for the additional detail. I think I'll just keep it as a 4. I've got enough project basses for nowThe 6 saddle bridge is flimsy and bends in the middle. I like flats for some things. My Bronco has Chromes, my Aria 34" hollowbody and Squier Mini P have La Bella flats. It's nice to have a short scale that seems well suited to rounds.I have GHS Boomers on mine and I've always thought they sounded good. A lot of folks seem to like flats, depends on what kind of sound you're going for I suppose but I've never bee a big fan of flats on anything I own/play.

I have a question re neck adjustment on my Silvertone 1444 I'd like to post in this thread but so far can only post in 'Basses'.
First I would say I've never seen anything like that on a Dano. If it is for adjusting neck angle it goes against Nat's simplistic design approach so would be non-standard. Taking the neck off and seeing where the hole comes out will tell you a lot. What is this hole below the bottom neck screw for? Is it for adjusting the neck angle maybe? Thinking about putting in a shim to bring the action down a bit. View attachment 4994249
That screw is a neck-tilt adjustment, also found on Magnatones, Fenders, and Peaveys. It is a feature of vintage Danelectros. My experience with the dual aluminum rails is that they do *not* prevent neck bow.
